Real Sociedad equalized with Alexander Isak’s 62-minute strike as table toppers drop points at Anoeta.
Imanol Alguacil’s men continue to march forward as they held league leaders Fc Barcelona for a 2-2 at the Anoeta. Real Sociedad, currently 4th on the league, started off with a bang as Mikel Oryazabal converted a penalty in the 12th minute to give La Real the lead. Sergio Busquets was caught tugging Diego Llorente’s shirt and was confirmed by the VAR for the spot-kick against him.
However, the Catalan side equalized with a quickly converted counter that saw Luis Suarez giving it off to Antoine Griezmann only for the Frenchman to chip it behind the nets. Barca then went on to lead with a Luis Suarez strike, created by Leo Messi himself.
Real Sociedad endured quite a few promising Barcelona attacks before equalizing in the 62nd minute. Marc Andre Ter Stegen’s sloppiness was caught just as it should’ve been, as Isak found the ball in the simplest of places for an easy tap-in.
Barcelona sit top in the table, with Real Madrid still to play their fixture for the week, before the much anticipated El Clasico next week.
