Barca Nepal advisor and National Weightlifting Coach Sunil Lal Joshi no more

Kathmandu, June 27: Sunil Lal Joshi, ex-Olympic Weightlifter and Head Coach of the National Weightlifting team has died at the age of 53 this Sunday morning. Joshi took his last breath at the Gangalal National Heart Center where he was being treated following a heart attack.
Joshi won the record number of medals representing Nepal internationally, including 6 Silver medals and 11 gold medals. He represented Nepal in 1996 Olympics, 1st SAG to 7th SAG and other numerous international tournaments. Joshi also was the Chairman of Nepal Olympian’s Committee and was actively involved in Lalitpur District Sports Development Committee recently. Joshi’s demise has caused an unendurable loss in Nepal’s weightlifting sports category.
Joshi was also the adviser of Barca Nepal as he always supported this organization to move ahead to do something for Nepalese sports sector. It was Joshi who provided the opportunity to Barca Nepal to set its foot on the volunteering of the National Weightlifting Championship when Barca Nepal was just beginning to make its mark.
